Art therapy utilizes the creative process to improve emotional well-being and encourage positive behavior change. Our licensed art therapists incorporate drawing, painting, sculpture, and other hands-on art activities into both individual and group therapy sessions to help residents express feelings, reduce anxiety, build self-esteem, and develop social skills. The non-verbal, experiential nature of art therapy provides residents an important alternative mode of communication and self-discovery that complements our comprehensive behavioral health treatment options.

Our staff is trained to assist residents in the proper self-administration of their prescribed medications. Each medication is stored in individualized packages, labeled with the resident’s name, medication name, dosage, and time of administration. Our care team watches as residents take their medications, ensures proper dosage and timing, and documents all medications provided. Staff is able to answer basic questions about medications and side effects, but all medical concerns are referred to our consulting psychiatrists. We provide friendly yet professional assistance and oversight with medications to foster responsible self-management skills and adherence to important treatment plans. However, staff does not physically administer or assist in injection of any substances. Our goal is to empower residents to manage their health, while providing caring support and building good habits.
